During an operational sortie, an Indian Army Cheetah helicopter crashes near Mandala Hills in Bomdila

According to a defence spokesperson, an Indian Army Cheetah helicopter crashed on Thursday in Mandala, west of Bomdila, in Arunachal Pradesh.

Around 9.15 am, according to Lt Col. Mahendra Rawat, the helicopter, which was on an operational sortie close to Bomdila, lost touch with air traffic control (ATC).

“West of Bomdila, close to Mandala, it crashed. Search teams have been dispatched to the area “He said, adding that additional information was expected.
